The 2012 ford taurus is about to be launched by Ford in 4 different models – Taurus SHO high-performance, Limited, SE and SEL. It is believed that the car is going to receive the automatic dual-clutch, manual transmission along with the latest tech-features from the global car manufacturer. This includes the updated variant of the Sync multimedia system from Ford and the state-of-the-art operating interface, My Ford Touch.
The 2012 ford taurus is expected to be fitted with the 4-cylinder variant of the successful Eco Boost turbocharged Ford engine. A variant of the engine is fitted in the 2011 Ford Explorer and it delivers a peak output of 237 HP. The SHO model is reported to retain the Ford V-6 Eco Boost engine that has been delivering more than 365 HP in 2011. One of the best points about the engine is that it is believed to offer a good fuel economy at around 30 mpg.
The SHO and Limited models are provided with the SYNC system that lets you run the Bluetooth-enabled phones and MP3 players through normal voice commands. The Health Report in the SYNC system lets you generate a tailored diagnostics report of the car. The system also consists of traffic information and directions, helping to make any trip more convenient and safe.
The Power Shift gearbox gives a feel of manual transmission where you don’t have to use a clutch pedal. The shifting is optional between manual and automatic. As earlier, the top and mid-range 2012 ford taurus is going to be offered with the elective AWD in the form of a substitute to the normal front wheel drive.
Other standards on the car will be the Advance Trac Electronic Stability Control system from Ford, the anti-skid system, anti lock 4-wheel disc brakes and the aluminum wheels. The 2012 ford taurus is all set to offer one of the best controlled handling and smooth riding experience.
